Alberta’s energy system is at the centre of the most complex, fragmented and divisive debates. From disputes about market access for Alberta’s oil, to disagreements about the most strategic approaches to address climate change to controversies about the health and wellbeing of affected communities, energy system pressures are impacting all stakeholders.

In response, The Natural Step Canada and its collaborators are designing a platform to discuss, experiment, and innovate—the Energy Futures Lab (EFL). The EFL is asking: How can Alberta’s leadership position in today’s energy system serve as a platform for transitioning to the energy system the future needs?

The Energy Futures Lab (EFL) is an Alberta-based, multi-interest collaboration designed to accelerate the development of a “fit for the future” energy system. The EFL brings together a cohort of influential leaders to address current and emerging energy challenges, and generate opportunities to identify, test and scale new initiatives and collaborations.

Travesia is proud to play a leading role in the design and development of the EFL, as well as being one of the co-faciliators for a series of workshops to arrive at breakthrough results for Alberta’s energy system.
